UUCR Green Sanctuary Charter
Authorization Chairperson Membership Meetings Budget Goals
The UUCR Board authorized a standing Green Sanctuary Committee in May 2005 and requested that
a UUCR GS committee be formed and that they select a chair among the members.
The chairperson serves a one year term renewable at the discretion of the
President and the committee. The chairperson is responsible for accomplishing the goals, tasks, and activities of Green Sanctuary,
submitting reports, and making presentations. The chairperson coordinates with the UUCR staff, officers, committee chairpersons,
and members on environmental issues. The chairperson(s) typically seeks volunteers from the Green Sanctuary Committee and
the congregation to act as project officers and participants.
UUCR members and friends may volunteer for Green Sanctuary Committee membership. Green Sanctuary
Committee members may act as project officers and participate in all projects and activities.
Initially meetings will be held every two weeks on Thursday nights beginning at 7:00 PM at a location to be determined.
The timing of the meetings may be modified at a future date.
The GS committee currently has an authorized budget of $50 for the purchase of
UUA GS workbooks and other written material. More requests for funding will be submitted to the board as needed.
The purpose of the UUCR GS Committee is to actualize the seventh principle which affirms and promotes
"Respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part." To accomplish this the following goals are adopted:
